Hi guys, guess what I love writing reviews...no seriously, I just realized it has been a while since someone reviewed Mambo Mondays, and over a year since I wrote the initial one! Well, nothing has changed except we are all a year older ~ the crowd is excellent, full of pros, dance company members, social dancers and beginners. I hung out with some girls who drove down from Gordon college just last week, and they had a blast. The only thing wrong with this place is that it's small - but then again, that leads for more opportunity to hang out and meet people. Floor is medium speed - not slippery at all, dress code is mostly casual, the music is sizzling, and for $4 a Coronoa, I'm in. Y'all come out!!

A different kind of event, more like a jam session, classes and instructors drop in after their Monday night classes and let off steam very casual dress, great people, and just an extremely diverse group of dancers having fun.

Mambo Mondays reminds me of the house party's family and friends use to have often when I was growing up. The cover charge is the cheapest in town, the parking is even cheaper, and the location is so accessible nobody has an excuse for not getting there. The music is great and the people are even better. Since rueda offers me a game to play as an adult on the dance floor, it brings the atmosphere over the top for my salsa experience. My favorite part of the night is when Melaza and their peeps make the midnight run and come in with their second wind. Sigue con la salsa!!!! Bailamos!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey y'all~ so the Havana Club has now become "Mambo Mondays" at the Green St. Grill in Cambridge. It's got a laid-back, casual feel to it, and I enjoy it because of that. The crowd is very friendly, the place has a sort of "everyone knows your name" feel b/c it's so small - but it's a Monday, and it's perfect. Jeff plays great music, and is welcome to special requests (Thanks, Jeff!), and the crowd is consistently dancing through the night. They do salsa and rueda lessons at the beginning, and then towards the end of the night April's dance group heads over from their practice next door and then there's an energy surge from 12-1 as everyone hits the dance floor hard on1 and on2 (it's a great way for dancers of both types to try each other's style - I'm learning a lot!). I've met a lot of new dancers here, and I would suggest y'all heading on over too. The parking garage is *next door* and I think it literally costs like $1 an hour...gotta love Central Square. Hope to see you there!!
