Join us this coming Friday, March 1st, at 8:30 PM as the Rueda group
gives its first workshop of the term.  However, we also have a special
treat for you this time:  WE WILL BE HOLDING A SALSA PARTY
AFTER THE WORKSHOP!

Workshop:  8:30 PM - 10 PM  (cost - $10)
Party:  10 PM - 12:30 AM (cost $5; or free for those who attend the workshop)
Snacks and refreshments will be provided....

Where:  Lobdell's in the Student Center (MIT)

No partner is necessary.  As usual, people will be split up into three
levels: beginner, advanced beginner, and intermediate/advanced. 
Notice that these levels are not designated in terms of salsa.  If you
dance salsa but not rueda, you will be placed at a beginner level.  It
will be up to the discretion of the instructors to move you up to the
next level. 

Workshops are formal instruction, so bring your sweats, your jazz
sneakers/dancing shoes, your water bottles, and plenty of energy to
burn for 3 hours straight.  No formal attire is required for the party. 
With that said, we hope to see you all there.

     After more than 2 years of great times and memories, Sophia's
oldest and best tradition, Tuesday Latin Nights and Dance Classes will
be moving to Thursdays at Sophia's, beginning on Thursday March 7,
2002.  SO DON'T MISS TOMORROW'S LAST TUESDAY LATIN NIGHT!

     Thursdays, one of Sophia's prime nights, will provide for much
added excitement and entertainment for our great Latin Nights
tradition, including:

1.  Our great Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha, Samba, & Lambada
classes held from 9:00 - 10:30 p.m. on the 1st & 2nd floors;

2. 10:30 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. - DJ Zino, mixing the best of both his and
my (Dan's) selections of Latin music & DVD of Classical Salsa, New
York Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha Cha Cha, Mambo, Mambo-Salsa, Samba,
Lambada, Latin House, & more - on the 2nd floor.

3. 10:30 p.m. - 2:00 a.m. - Our live Sophia's Latin Salsa, Cha Cha Cha,
& Bolero band, playing their great music for dancing, with Uche Amaechi
DJing between sets on the 1st floor;

4. As part of our apprechiation for your attendence of our Tuesday
nights for the past 2 years, our special $5 discount cover will remain
as a VIP treatment to all those taking our class (this cover charge
will apply to you if you arrive between 8:30 - 10:30 p.m. sign our
class attendance sheet at the front door).  Those not attending the
classes will be subject to Sophia's $10 cover charge, or any guest
list privilages they attain.

*** As a March 7th Thursday grand opening promotion, we are extending

9pm Advanced Beginner/Intermediate classic NY turn patterns.
    Fine-tuning of leading and following techniques.

6pm Beginner footwork and partnering. Intro to NY Style Salsa "on 2".

7pm Advanced Beginner footwork and partnering.

9pm Intermediate footwork and turn patterns.
