 Hacha Benefit Raises $1800!
*****************************

Many thanks to all the Salseros who turned out last Saturday to raise money
for Hacha's performance in LA this May!  An estimated 150-200 people turned
out to Supershag's great studio in Waltham, and raised over $1800 for Hacha,
who will be representing Boston in front of 3000+ at the West Coast Salsa
Congress.

In fact, over 30 people from Boston will be attending.  I am aware of one
person who registered at low price in Feb. who needs to cancel, so if you
are interested in going, email me at olaf@salsaboston.com.

2nd annual Instructor Showcase at Sophias
   Hosted by SalsaBoston.com,  Wed. May 8

Wednesday, May 8, SalsaBoston.com will be hosting its 2nd annual Instructor
Showcase at Sophias!  This is an open invitation to all area Salsa
Instructors to come and dance an impovisational or rehearsed number.
Audience, this is a terrific chance to see who all is teaching in Boston,
learn about different styles, meet the instructors, and sign up for classes.

NOTE!!!  May 8th is NOT a Redsox night!

The format will be slightly different based on feedback from last year.
Each couple will have the option of dancing individually.  This can be a
rehearsed number or improvised, and should be no more than 3 minutes.  In

JJ, who is a Ballroom/Swing/Salsero himself, has been hosting Boston's 7
Minute Date for a couple years now, and these events are always a good time,
and a GREAT WAY to meet new people!

GUYS!  They need you!  For some reason there are always many more women that
want to attend, but the policy is to keep a 50-50 ratio for the actual
dating, so many women end up "standing by" for the party afterwords.  So
here's a great opportunity!  As I understand it, over 200 people have

In the luxuriously elegant

THREE age groups for the "dating" portion of the evening.
20 to 30, 27 to 38, 35 to 48

Select your "dates" at any time during the evening!

6:30 pm - Doors open Hors d'oeuvres served to our guests include an
assortment of stuffed mushrooms with crabmeat, assorted miniature quiche,
shrimp quesadillas trumpet with salsa and sour cream,
spinach and goat cheese flat bread pizza, miniature deep dish pizzas, brie
and pear in phyllo dough, breaded parmesan artichoke hearts, beef or chicken
satay with warm peanut dipping sauce as well as cheese and crudite platters.

8 - 10 pm - Let the dating begin!
Two 45 minute sessions with a half-hour break in the middle.

10 - 1 am  - Time to party!  Dance to the top 40s!
You get to help pick the music on your registration!
The DJ will play the 25 most requested songs!
Simultaneously, a short dance lesson will be offered in a separate room!

dancing…  We’ll work on incorporating more body movement into your dancing
(with examples in specific steps), stylish additions to your freestyle and
partnering, such as body rolls and drops, graceful arms for the ladies, and

IV. DIRECTIONS TO SALSALEGRE!

An easy 35 minutes from Boston...

From East via Rt 9:

--Take Rt 9 West. When you pass under Rt 95/128,
you'll go 6.5 more miles till you get to exit for Rt.
27 South.
--On right, just before exits for 27, you'll see a big
shopping center with a BIG Stop and Shop.
For 27 South exit you'll go under Rt 27--slowly
because exit is immediately on your right!
--Take 27 South  8/10 of a mile to Lake St on your
right. (At 7/10 of a mile is a light.) Turn RIGHT
onto Lake St., then bear IMMEDIATELY LEFT onto
Washington AVENUE (not Street).
--Go 2/10 of a mile down Washington Ave. to Lodge 1411
on your left (look for red awning).

From Mass Pike East or West:

--Take Pike to Exit 13. Follow signs after tolls for
Natick.
--This puts you briefly on 30 East. Go to first light
and turn RIGHT onto Speen St.
--Take Speen about ½ mile, look for sign for Rt. 9
East. A little past Natick Mall (on right), you will
EXIT LEFT to get on 9 East.
--Take Rt. 9 East a short distance (1/2 mile maybe)to
exit for Rt 27 South.
--Take 27 South  8/10 of a mile to Lake St on your
right. (At 7/10 of a mile is a light.) Turn RIGHT
onto Lake St., then bear IMMEDIATELY LEFT onto
Washington AVENUE (not Street).
--Go 2/10 of a mile down Washington Ave. to Lodge 1411
on your left (look for red awning).

Via Rt 135, East or West:

--Washington AVENUE (not street) is a small street off
Rt 135. It's the first traffic light west of the big
intersection of routes 27 and 135 in downtown Natick.
--Turn off 135 onto Washington Ave. (it's only on one
side, so you have to turn right from downtown Natick,
or left from Framingham)
--Go about 1/3 mile to Lodge 1411 on your right (look
for red awning).
