First off, welcome new subscribers! Many of you
out there have seen the new SalsaBoston.com cards which were created to help the
Salsaseros who aren't plugged into SalsaBoston.com yet! In the past week
since we started distributing them, many new people have joined the site so
we're glad to know that the word is getting around even further than it
has. If you would like some to distribute, please email me, ask me for
some if you see me out there, or simply help yourself to some from wherever you
see them.

******************************************** 2nd
annual Instructor Showcase at Sophias Hosted by
SalsaBoston.com, Wed. May
8 ********************************************
Wednesday, May 8,
SalsaBoston.com will be hosting its 2nd annual Instructor Showcase at
Sophias! Audience, this is a terrific chance to not only see some great dancing,
but moreover to see who all is teaching in Boston, learn about different styles,
meet the instructors, and sign up for classes. We have extended an open
invitation to all area Salsa Instructors to come and dance an improvisational or
rehearsed number.
BONUS NOTE!!! May 8th is NOT a Redsox night!
(i.e. plenty of parking)
Instructors, please RSVP! Send email
to: instructornight@salsaboston.com
The
format of the showcase will be slightly different from last year based on
feedback. Each group or couple will have the option of dancing
individually. This can be a rehearsed number or improvised, and should be
no more than 3 minutes. In the end, we will have a little *surprise* in
addition! Instructors will be able to promote their classes throughout the
evening.
**************************************** Open "Thank
You!" from Hacha Y
Machete ****************************************
The members of Hacha
Y Machete would like to take the opportunity to express our heartfelt
gratitude for the benefit that took place this past weekend. We can
not begin to thank enough all those who put together, sponsored,
contributed to, and attended this beautiful event. It was amazing to
see so many people come together on a spectacular dance floor to share with
us the thing we love to do the most…dance. And thanks to all of you
we will now be able to do it in L.A., Boston style!
We started
this group three years not knowing where we would end up. What we did
know is that we wanted to show people that we could dance and do it
well. That with some hard training and a creative style we too could
be on stage at a Salsa Congress. Now that it has become a reality, we
are honored and thrilled to be the first group to represent
Massachusetts. We only hope that this opens doors for other
incredible talent that has been Boston’s best kept secret for
so long. Thank you for all the love and support you have given us
not just on Saturday but always. We hope that we can return that love
by performing our hearts out in dedication to all of you.
Thank
you,
Hacha Y Machete Dance Stylists Burju, Lisa, Sammy, Victor,
Wanda
