ISAAC DELGADO PERFORMING LIVE IN BOSTON

Isaac will be appearing to perform at the New Remodeled 2nd floor of the Wonderland Entertainment Complex on Friday June 21st. The place is the home of the popularly Latin dance and is located at 1290 North Shore Road, Revere MA.

Delgado one of the most important tropical dance vocalists of his generation.

 His professional musical career began as an original member of Gonzalo Rubalcaba’s first band in Cuba, Grupo Proyecto. Soon after, he came to prominence internationally as a member of the then very popular NG La Banda. With its stunning arrangements, technical virtuosity, great vocalists and monster rhythms, this orchestra astonished the Latin music world. Immediately he gained popularity in New York, Miami and Puerto Rico, despite never having been allowed into these cities to perform live. With more regularity his albums continued to be more accessible in the U.S. throughout the late 1990s, and he made his first live appearance in the nation in 1997.

Isaac is a gifted singer and improviser who knows how to reach and touch his audience. He lets his sense of swing and virtuoso carry the essence of his songs.

He does not bend notes; he gives them just a touch of bitterness to suggest emotion. Beyond its musical pleasures, it reflects changed political and cultural realities. He has none of that swagger or flash that characterizes so many salsa stars, although at 35, he is on his way to becoming one of the most influential singer/bandleaders of the genre.

The first thing that one hears in Isaac Delgado’s voice is how distinct he is from other Afro-Cuban singers. On June 21st Isaac will impressed everybody in Massachusetts with his voice and songs that have breakdowns, in which drums take over; where each segment builds on the next, with brass parts accentuating the rhythms of the tune. His singing is as good as its gets in the Caribbean…
