Update #164: Pabon/Torres this Sat.
Hola
Salseros!

This Saturday is Pabon and Eddie Torres
Dancers at Knights of Columbus Hall. Tickets online. Details http://salsaboston.com/pabon_eddietorres.html Afterparty
at the Miami Club until 2am!
So you're wondering... what happened to last
week's update? Well, we missed it for the first time in years due to being
overwhelmed with the upcoming Congreso. Apologies to all. One note:
JamNastics is organizing a trip to Cuba in late November. Org. meeting was
last week, but see mailbag below.
By the way, something HUGE is brewing
for the Congreso on Sunday, still a secret, but you'll hear about it
soon!
Thanks to everyone who made it to the 2nd Congreso Volunteer Brunch
last Saturday! Altogether we have about 20 volunteers now looking into
sponsorship right now, and filling more tasks soon. If you would like to
be involved and did NOT get an email through the volunteers list I created,
please drop me a line. Our next brunch meeting will be this Saturday,
again at noon as it stands.
*** Last year's sponsors and
performers! Please let me know what you're up for this year! We'll
be coming around, but no reason to wait for us...
Speaking of the
Congreso, the website is up! http://salsaboston.com/congreso We'll be posting
information as it becomes available. Most importantly, we moved the Friday
night events to Jorge Hernandez Center ("El Bembe"). Ticket prices will
published soon, but look for around $99 for the event, maybe a little more
depending on the SURPRISE. By the way, there's a topic on the message
board about which instructors and performers you might have a preference
for. Check it out if you can. http://salsaboston.com/wwwboard
Other website stuff:
Salsa Polls are going well. When you log into the homepage, please
vote! Also, the reader nightclub rankings are up. Please write more
reviews!

Miami Club: Staying open and new lower prices!
*** ******************************************************
The last
few weeks have seen a tremendous jump in attendance as Boston's Salseros have
stepped up to the plate to support it. Thanks to all! As a result,
we will continue to stay open BUT WE STILL NEED YOU THERE! Fortunately
we're able to offer better admission prices now! Here's how it works: -
No more VIP list - Ladies only $5 before 10:30pm! - $10 cover - Doors
are opening at 9:15, lessons from 9:30-10:30 - Validated parking at Interpark
Garage on Beach St, only $5 Don't park at the lot adjacent, that one is
$10.
As with any new place, it's had its growing pains and we've had some
great nights and some not so great ones. But pretty much all the feedback
we have received since day one was really positive, and we all should thank each
other as a community, and also especially those who come support it regularly
and have stuck it through, even on some slow nights. Please continue to
provide your feedback. We had one suggestion for valet which we like,
especially given that some people feel uncomfortable in that area of
town. Also, Check out the reviews in the Nightclub section of
SpanishBoston.com!
