Well,
the first crocuses bloomed in my yard on Easter Sunday, so finally things are
literally "heating up" in Boston indeed!
Here's this week's
lineup:
First: RSVP for Latin Fridays at Vertigo, $5 off the cover.
The party is HOT HOT HOT! If you were a Sophia's regular on weekends, you
will love this party! Bud promos ongoing, ask the reps if they'll buy you
a drink. www.salsaboston.com/vertigo
info www.salsaboston.com/vertigo/rsvp.cgi RSVP for $5
off!
Second: Salsa at An Tua Nua tonight! SalsaBoston's
original "Salsa night for Salseros by Salseros" for 4 1/2 years running.
Tonight, we're introducing a free casino rueda practice from 7-8, followed by
c/r lessons from 8-9 and Salsa from 9-10 as usual with Johnny and Kelly (see
their spring lessons schedule in the mailbag). Dancing from 10-1, tonight
with DJ Hernan. Kitchen open until 10, full bar. Salsa in the back,
Karoke out front with my man Kev Mac-Daddy (salsa-yokee coming soon....)

Third: "Salsa for Gringos"
resumes! Starting this Sunday at the opening of the new Salsa/Latin night
at Club Q (Fanueil Hall) 8-9:30p at Club Q www.salsaboston.com/clubq
If you have 2 left feet and have been frustrated, or simply haven't picked up
this "salsa thing", come on out and we'll cure that. Or if you have say a
boyfriend who "can't dance", they usually do the best! RSVP for free
Johnny Walker drinks and cover, drinks, 10-11. Email info@salsaboston.com
to be on our list.
And of course: 5th Annual Salsa Harbor Cruise
Series! Starts Sundays, mid-June. Book your group reservations
now! Let your HR department know so they can plan a company outing. Season
5, every Sunday this summer starting mid-June. We are currently scheduling
corporate and group reservations, so let your people know. Season tickets
will go on sale in April. www.salsaboston.com/cruise05 July 4th will
be a cruise as well. Call 617-513-9841 for

An
Tua Nua is a great contemporary Irish bar & grill on Beacon Street just
outside of Kenmore Square (only about 3 blocks from Sophia's). In the back
they have a dance club about the same size as the upstairs at Sophia's, with a
sizable dance floor that holds about 150 people, a bar, and plenty of lounge
seating.
Close to the green line (St. Mary's on the C train),
plenty of street and lot parking.
Irish/America/Bar food available until
10pm. I have eaten there, it is tasty and modestly priced.
Note:
they have Karaoke with my man Kev MacDaddy in the front portion of the bar when
you walk in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back room!
Full Bar. Please check your coat.

******************************************************************* 1) Dear
Salseros,
Another week; another great party. I'd like to thank Erin and
Cindy of the Pachanga Project for giving such amazing and unique
performances. The choreography, costumes, and contrast in styles were
outstanding.
This week, Jamnastics will be in the house with performances
by their Ladies and Training Groups. Jamnastics is one of Boston's oldest, most
distinguished dance companies and they have an excellent mission and vision for
building community, celebrating diversity, and working with kids.
We are
rolling out a new program this week. Introducing.........
************The Havana Club Dancers***************** Erin Banks, Willie
Sanchez, Ivan Skopovi, Juliana Melo, Cindy Orellana, and I will help brave new
salseros find their groove during the salsa lesson and first hour of the party.
The idea here is to make learning salsa easier and more fun so that our
non-salsa friends have a better chance of becoming salsa friends.
And if
you have a suggestion on how we can improve the evening, please send me a note.
(This week, we'll leave the colored club lights off during the lessons to keep
the room cooler. Also, we'll give pizza a try as our snack, and we'll switch
back to chocolate cake.)
You can find pictures of last Friday's party
online at: http://www.HavanaClubSalsa.com
Please
send this email along to friends, groups, and relevant lists, and share this
great, big, fun night with other cool
people!
