Well, it finally happened!  There's a new floor, yes, brand new from scratch, at An Tua Nua.  I'm told many salseros have been staying in Wednesdays because of the old floor, and frankly I can't blame them, but that problem is solved and I want to welcome everyone back!  This week we'll break it in, and next week is our official grand reopening party to welcome everyone back, and we will be featuring a whole host of new and special stuff for you.  Looking forward to seeing you all again!  www.salsaboston.com/antuanua

Also, a big congrats to all the Bostonians who performed in LA!  Looking good!  We're gearing up for the 5th Annual Boston Salsa Congress(TM) Sept. 16-18 at Springstep, promising even more fun than last year.  I spoke to many of our invitees, and they are all supremely excited.  Event passes go on sale next week, when the website goes up.  Stay tuned. www.salsaboston.com/congress

All you Latin night lovers out there, if you haven't been to Vertigo lately, it's been a sellout crowd!  Come early, don't forget your discount pass from the website.  Plus, if you have friends that can't dance, bring them to the Salsa for Gringos lesson, now at 9:30pm! www.salsaboston.com/vertigo

Finally, many of you in the last few weeks got invitation passes to the Maxim Magazine Bud Light "Infocate" party this Friday at Felt.  I still have a couple passes if you want to go, or if you have a pass and can't go, let me know.  The website also says you can RSVP at events@feltclubboston.com, but I can't promise anything.  See you there.

An Tua Nua is a great contemporary Irish bar & grill on Beacon Street just outside of Kenmore Square (only about 3 blocks from Sophia's).  In the back they have a dance club about the same size as the upstairs at Sophia's, with a sizable dance floor that holds about 150 people, a bar, and plenty of lounge seating.

Close to the green line (St. Mary's on the C train), plenty of street and lot parking.

Irish/America/Bar food available until 10pm.  I have eaten there, it is tasty and modestly priced.

Note: they have Karaoke with my man Kev MacDaddy in the front portion of the bar when you walk in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back room!  Full Bar.  Please check your coat.

1) Havana Club Update

*******************************************************************
1)
Dear Friends,

Havana Night: Thursdays at Mantra is great fun! For the second
week in a row, over 200 people partied Havana Club style and
enjoyed a cool, classy evening of Latin music and dancing.  And
because the rain precluded everyone from checking out Mantra,
this week will be another Open House with free admission (no
cover charge). Please note that our Latin Lounge cocktail party
now begins at 10pm.

Friday Night Salsa is awesome!  And this week I again expect 300+
cool, classy salseros to dance the night away. And, as always, we
welcome all feedback and we continue to improve the evening.

Mambo Mondays continues to be a relaxed, chill night where
beginners can become comfortable with salsa's rhythm and steps,
and can connect with others in a welcoming environment. Salsa y
Control's Andres Giraldo teaches the beginner salsa lessons.
