Wow!  Is it Fall already?  The leaves on my tree are turning as we speak!  Where did the summer go?  But what a summer it was, with Salsa literally EXPLODING across Boston.  If there's any indication from the Salsa Congress last week, Boston is most thoroughly on the international Salsa map, something to be proud of certainly.  Glad to be part of it personally.  Nevertheless, this job at SalsaBoston HQ gets harder and harder as more events and nights spring up, more competition between promoters, more information to keep up to date, more "Salsa politics", etc.  I'm trying to stay out of all that directly, and SalsaBoston continues to concentrate on continuing to bring you the best Salsa around, right here, from the original "All Salsa All Night, by Salseros for Salseros".  Yep, that's us.

Why am I rambling?  No idea!  But thanks for listening!  On to the
substance:

Join us tonight at An Tua Nua, for the usual *fabulous* night of Casino Rueda followed by Salsa Lessons with Johnny and Kelly, and Salsa all night!

AND!  Now every SUNDAY, SalsaBoston brings you Salsa at Mojitos! Similar in format to Wednesdays at An Tua Nua, it features DJ D. Martinez and DJ Hernan.  Lesson at 8:30, dancing until closing.  This event will be upstairs on the beautiful dancefloor, and will feature SalsaBoston's ALL SALSA format (_not_ a mix of Salsa and Latin).  Join us!  For the grand opening, RSVP for $5 off the cover. THIS EVENT IS 19+ (guys and ladies) www.salsaboston.com/mojitosundays

If you missed the Congress or if you enjoyed it but didn't make it to the congress shop, the DVD will be out by mid October at the latest and probably sooner, and also Congress embroidered shirts (mens and ladies), caps, and hand towels are available.  We still have a lot of things to pay for this year, so every purchase helps out.  Shirts and the video are $20 each, and the caps and towels $10.  Buy any two and you get $5 off, so the video and a shirt would be $35. www.salsaboston.com/congress/shop  We'll also have everything for sale at An Tua Nua tonight.

Finally,

MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
Saturday, October 22:
SalsaBoston and Dile present the

        **********************************
         Fall Salsa Bash, featuring "Dile"
        **********************************

"Dile" is Boston's hottest new Salsa Band which debuted live at the Boston Salsa Congress.  We'll have LIVE HOT Salsa all night, plus a special workshop and some extra surprises. Location TBA still, but it might be the Knights of Columbus (and ya'll know we can fix a place up for some good atmosphere).  We expect about 400+ there.  All ages as well.  It will be a fantastic Salsa night! Tickets will be available online and from various outlets.

An Tua Nua is a great contemporary Irish bar & grill on Beacon Street just outside of Kenmore Square (only about 3 blocks from Sophia's).  In the back they have a dance club about the same size as the upstairs at Sophia's, with a sizable dance floor that holds about 150 people, a bar, and plenty of lounge seating.

Close to the green line (St. Mary's on the C train), plenty of street and lot parking.

Irish/America/Bar food available until 10pm.  I have eaten there, it is tasty and modestly priced.

Note: they have Karaoke with my man Kev MacDaddy in the front portion of the bar when you walk in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back room!  Full Bar.  Please check your coat.

Big news: effective this week, Havana Thursdays will move from Mantra to Bar 33. Why the move? First, we can start the evening earlier (salsa lesson at 9:30, salsa dance party at 10:15). Second, we can have greater consistency every week. (No half-Persian nights... No Reggaeton until
1am.) I really loved the space at Mantra - and we had some great times and met lots of cool new people there - but moving the party to upstairs at Bar 33 will make it a lot better.

33 Restaurant & Lounge, 33 Stanhope Street, Back Bay, Boston
    * 9:30-10:15pm Beginner Salsa Lesson w/ Jeff
    * 10:15pm-2am Salsa Dance Party w/ DJ Cuban Jeff

Please come out and support "Back Bay Salsa" - and meet cool new people
- this Thursday!
