By know I hope you've received an invitation to the Fall Salsa Gala #1, but if not, here it is again.  Thanks to all that have helped spread the word.  This is going to be a great dance night, so I hope you can make it!

SATURDAY, October 22 at Knights of Columbus Hall in Charlestown, we're throwing the Fall Salsa Gala #1, featuring Orquesta "Dile", the HOT new Salsa Band in town.  There should be about 400 Salseros and music lovers there, dancing and listening.  Don't miss this party! More details at www.salsaboston.com/fallgala $15 advance, $10 with college/student ID.  ALL AGES. Buy tix online or I have paper tickets if you see me around. Also, why not print out a poster of the event to hang in your office or studio? Download (750kb .pdf) http://salsaboston.com/fallgala/images/fallbash1a.pdf

Last week I sent out a link to my Saturday Salsa survey: http://salsaboston.com/surveyoffice100/survey.cgi?survey=SaturdaySalsa
Thanks for your input!  The response was tremendous.  As a result...

* Have you checked out Masa?  If you're up for a casual night and some dining and an upscale bar, this place is cool on Thursdays.  Casual lesson around 10pm, a mix of music, no cover.  439 Trement St, South End, Boston

* If you missed the Congress or if you enjoyed it but didn't make it to the congress shop, the DVD will be out by mid October at the latest and probably sooner, and also Congress embroidered shirts (mens and ladies), caps, and hand towels are available.  We still have a lot of things to pay for this year, so every purchase helps out.  Shirts and the video are $20 each, and the caps and towels $10.  Buy any two and you get $5 off, so the video and a shirt would be $35. www.salsaboston.com/congress/shop  We'll also have everything for sale at An Tua Nua tonight.

Ladies and Gentlemen!

You've been asking for Saturday Salsa for a long time, and here is finally an opportunity.  SalsaBoston with DJ D. Martinez brings you "Dile", Boston's hot new Aftro-Cuban Band, featured recently at the 5th Annual Boston Salsa Congress.  To put it mildly, these guys Rock! Featuring 11+ talented musicians directed by Juan Chavez, with a repertoire of superbly dancable music.

We cordially invite you to join us for this Fall Salsa Gala #1 ("#1" because we have "#2" potentially in the works...stay tuned)  This will be an elegant evening, plenty of dance space, excellent music, great atmosphere, nearby in Charlestown at the Knights of Columbus Hall-fixed-up-SalsaBoston-style!  We expect about 400 salseros and live music lovers, there to dance and enjoy the musical performance.

Please reserve your tickets online now!  The more people we know are coming early, the better we can make the party for you.  Please invite your beginner dance friends, and other family/friends who may not want to dance but would enjoy the fabulous live music.

There will be a free beginner Salsa lesson at 9pm when the doors open. Dancing and music starts at 10pm.

-Olaf Bleck  SalsaBoston  on behalf of D. Martinez and all the guys from "Dile" For more details, press information, and please call me at 617-513-9841

An Tua Nua is a great contemporary Irish bar & grill on Beacon Street just outside of Kenmore Square (only about 3 blocks from Sophia's).  In the back they have a dance club about the same size as the upstairs at Sophia's, with a sizable dance floor that holds about 150 people, a bar, and plenty of lounge seating.

Close to the green line (St. Mary's on the C train), plenty of street and lot parking.

Irish/America/Bar food available until 10pm.  I have eaten there, it is tasty and modestly priced.

Note: they have Karaoke with my man Kev-Mac Daddy in the front portion of the bar when you walk in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back room!  Full Bar.  Please check your coat.
