Earlier today you should have received my special email about the Summer Salsa Bash, Saturday June 3 at the Hyatt.  If not, check out the party details at http://salsaboston.com/summerbash

Salsa Cruises:  more below, but the website is up to date and tickets are on SALE!

TONIGHT!  Good news, An Tua Nua Salseros, Rain Stopped! and no sox home game tonight!

    i.e. it's a good night for dancin'!  http://www.salsaboston.com/antuanua

and Casino Rueda lovers...

In response to a pressing demand, we've started up an intermediate & advanced Casino Rueda workshop from 7-8pm at An Tua Nua, taught by Anara and Katie.  It will cover styling, technique, and even include some choreography and performance-related coaching.  You can register for a session, but drop in's are welcome too.  The workshop of course will "dile que no" right into the regular Casino Rueda class from 8-9, which includes beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.  Classes will focus on teaching fun new moves and leading and following technique.  We're also going to have a lot more CR dancing throughout the night on Wed.!  It's just a couple extra bucks to come for the
workshops:  $20 for drop in ($6 extra), and $15/week for the session ($1 extra)--and that includes the regular class, and the club for the rest of the night too.

Salsa Night at An Tua Nua on Wednesdays:
7-8 intermediate/advanced Casino Rueda instruction
8-9 Casino Rueda group lesson, all levels
9-10 Salsa with Johnny and Kelly

* Have you checked out Masa?  If you're up for a casual night and some dining and an upscale bar, this place is cool on Thursdays.  Casual lesson around 10pm, a mix of music, no cover.  439 Trement St, South End, Boston

* If you missed the Congress or if you enjoyed it but didn't make it to the congress shop, the DVD will be out by mid November at the latest and probably sooner, and also Congress embroidered shirts (mens and ladies), caps, and hand towels are available.  We still have a lot of things to pay for this year, so every purchase helps out.  Shirts and the video are $20 each, and the caps and towels $10.  Buy any two and you get $5 off, so the video and a shirt would be $35. www.salsaboston.com/congress/shop

An Tua Nua is a great contemporary Irish bar & grill on Beacon Street just outside of Kenmore Square (only about 3 blocks from Sophia's).  In the back they have a dance club about the same size as the upstairs at Sophia's, with a sizable dance floor that holds about 150 people, a bar, and plenty of lounge seating.

Close to the green line (St. Mary's on the C train, Fenway on the D, Kenmore on the B), plenty of street and lot parking.

Irish/America/Bar food available until 10pm.  I have eaten there regularly, it is very tasty and modestly priced.

Note: they have Karaoke with my man Kev-Mac Daddy in the front portion of the bar when you walk in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back room!  Full Bar.  Please check your coat.

Hey everyone,
We will be doing a beginner rueda lesson with some social dancing at Cambridgeport Baptist Church on Friday May 19th from 7pm - 9pm.  I know most of you don't need a beginner lesson, but this is a great opportunity to learn to teach or to learn to become a leader if you're a follower and vice versa.  So we'll have plenty of dancing and some good snacks to munch on.

We also need a few people to help us teach/demonstrate, so if you're available, please let me know.  We hope to have a large number of beginners, so we'll need a lot of help!
