Much going on as summer approaches!  Here are some highlights brought to you by SalsaBoston, and if you're new to this e-magazine, be sure to check out the mailbag at the bottom as well.

We are planning a party for this Sunday's pre-Memorial Day holiday, but unfortunately it can't be at An Tua Nua because of a private party.  We'll send out an email when we know the details later this week.  Ryles is also rumored to be quiet that night on account of many people being in LA this weekend, so it'll be a good night to try something new.  "Dionysus" 2nd floor of the Radisson on Memorial Dr. is one place we're looking at.  Stay tuned!

See you on the dancefloor!
-Olaf

** Tonight at AN TUA NUA, we're featuring a special performance by Salsa Y Control! Boston's final preview performance before they head to LA tomorrow to perform it for the world!

** and for the Casino Rueda lovers, also at AN TUA NUA (lots of CR dancers these days!) In response to a pressing demand, we've started up an intermediate & advanced Casino Rueda workshop from 7-8pm at An Tua Nua, taught by Anara and Katie.  It will cover styling, technique, and even include some choreography and performance-related coaching.  You can register for a session, but drop in's are welcome too.  The workshop of course will "dile que no" right into the regular Casino Rueda class from 8-9, which includes beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.  Classes will focus on teaching fun new moves and leading and following technique.  We're also going to have a lot more CR dancing throughout the night on Wed.!  It's just a couple extra bucks to come for the
workshops:  $20 for drop in ($6 extra), and $15/week for the session ($1 extra)--and that includes the regular class, and the club for the rest of the night too.

Salsa Night at An Tua Nua on Wednesdays:
7-8 intermediate/advanced Casino Rueda instruction
8-9 Casino Rueda group lesson, all levels
9-10 Salsa with Johnny and Kelly
10-1 SALSA!

* Have you checked out Masa?  If you're up for a casual night and some dining and an upscale bar, this place is cool on Thursdays.  Casual lesson around 10pm, a mix of music, no cover.  439 Trement St, South End, Boston

* If you missed the Congress or if you enjoyed it but didn't make it to the congress shop, the DVD will be out by mid November at the latest and probably sooner, and also Congress embroidered shirts (mens and ladies), caps, and hand towels are available.  We still have a lot of things to pay for this year, so every purchase helps out.  Shirts and the video are $20 each, and the caps and towels $10.  Buy any two and you get $5 off, so the video and a shirt would be $35. www.salsaboston.com/congress/shop

An Tua Nua is a great contemporary Irish bar & grill on Beacon Street just outside of Kenmore Square (only about 3 blocks from Sophia's).  In the back they have a dance club about the same size as the upstairs at Sophia's, with a sizable dance floor that holds about 150 people, a bar, and plenty of lounge seating.

Close to the green line (St. Mary's on the C train, Fenway on the D, Kenmore on the B), plenty of street and lot parking.

Irish/America/Bar food available until 10pm.  I have eaten there regularly, it is very tasty and modestly priced.

Note: they have Karaoke with my man Kev-Mac Daddy in the front portion of the bar when you walk in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back room!  Full Bar.  Please check your coat.
