If you
haven't been to the cruises yet, the season is half over and the cruises are
getting hotter every week. Last weekend we left the dock with 350, and
what a party it was! This week will be at least that, with a *big* group
coming down from the greater Haverhill area, so come on out and meet some new
Salseros! The cruise offers something for everyone, 2 decks of dancing
(the salsa deck, the latin deck), and the observation deck on top with Boston's
great harbor views. Free afterparty at Mojitos too. http://salsaboston.com/cruise or
call 617-513-9841 BOOK A GROUP! Only $25 gets you the full package with
food and the lesson. Corporate parties welcome. Talk to your
HR people (they have funds to pay for it sometimes even!) or let us know and
we'll contact them for you.
*** Check out Fridays at Ryles, now a regular
occurrence, brought to you by DJ Hernan and Hips on Fire. Details in the
mailbag.
*** A note from one of our sponsors--a great non-salsa party
coming up: JetSet Events presents: "The Best of the Best" Experience the Best
that Boston has to offer. Thur. July 27 at Whiskey Park. See mailbag below for
details!
*** Salsa tonight (Wednesday) at An Tua Nua! Come early to
chow down on some of ATN's awesome eats, and then dance some Salsa 'til 1am! http://salsaboston.com/antuanua Salsa
and Casino Rueda Lessons at 7pm, 8pm, and 9pm, more details below or call

An Tua Nua is a great
contemporary Irish bar & grill on Beacon Street just outside of Kenmore
Square (only about 3 blocks from Sophia's). In the back they have a dance
club about the same size as the upstairs at Sophia's, with a sizable dance floor
that holds about 150 people, a bar, and plenty of lounge
seating.
Close to the green line (St. Mary's on the C train, Fenway
on the D, Kenmore on the B), plenty of street and lot
parking.
Irish/America/Bar food available until 10pm. I have eaten
there regularly, it is very tasty and modestly priced.
Note: they have
Karaoke with my man Kev-Mac Daddy in the front portion of the bar when you walk
in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back room! Full
Bar. Please check your coat.

This events is at Whiskey Park, an ultra-stylish
lounge in the Park Plaza. They do great bourbon and rye cocktails, but it’s the
design, clientele and JetSet Parties that are the main attractions - a place to
see and be scene. The interior is plush and glam, with fake fur couches, liquid
leather loveseats and two dark-wood bar counters for posing at. Skimpily-clad
waitresses in body hugging black bring drinks to your table, and a VIP area adds
to the
exclusivity.
