Cruise! HUGE this week! Monday is a
holiday--we might sell out at the dock, so get your tickets in
advance.
Come down, meet some great new people, and have a fantastic
time! Lesson, Dancing, Awesome People, Food, Sightseeing, Free Drinks (at
Mojitos after), all in one night. The cruises have been amazing, and
on behalf of my staff as well, I want to say it's been a real joy to host
them.
BOOK A GROUP! Only $25 gets you the full package with food
and the lesson. Corporate parties welcome. Talk to your HR
people (they have funds to pay for it sometimes even!) or let us know and we'll
contact them for you. http://salsaboston.com/cruise, or more
below.

Rumor also has it that Anthony Mayor's party at
Ryles--usurped from DJ Hernan and Hips on Fire--last Friday was a bust, which is
really interesting because it confirms that indeed, Salseros in Boston are a
community and *we* aren't going to take any unethical BS from from the
fringe. Thanks to everyone for being so AWESOME!
See you on the
dance floor! -Olaf

An Tua Nua is a great
contemporary Irish bar & grill on Beacon Street just outside of Kenmore
Square (only about 3 blocks from Sophia's). In the back they have a dance
club about the same size as the upstairs at Sophia's, with a sizable dance floor
that holds about 150 people, a bar, and plenty of lounge
seating.
Close to the green line (St. Mary's on the C train, Fenway
on the D, Kenmore on the B), plenty of street and lot
parking.
Irish/America/Bar food available until 10pm. I have eaten
there regularly, it is very tasty and modestly priced.
Note: they have
Karaoke with my man Kev-Mac Daddy in the front portion of the bar when you walk
in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back room! Full
Bar. Please check your coat.

Passed
along from a Salsera:
the extraordinary (and favorite)
Spanish Harlem Orchestra will be in our area (sort of) this
weekend. They will be playing at Tanglewood in Lennox on Friday
night @ 8:00. Lawn tix (which I would personally prefer so that
we can dance, obviamente) are $17, but there are also seats
inside the hall. Check out www.tanglewood.org. I would
not order tickets until the end of the week in case
of rain... Then I discovered that they will also
be playing in Lowell on Saturday @ 7:30 (Boarding House Park)
for $10! There is also event parking in the city-owned garage
across the street from the park for $5 and in case of rain, they move
the event into an auditorium nearby. Check out
www.lowellsummermusic.org. They are also playing the at the
Rhythm and Roots festival in charlestown, ri on Sunday which could be a
lot of fun if you want to see a variety of bands in one day (but a
little pricey for my own taste, personally).
