Hi everyone! See you tonight at An Tua Nua as usual!
http://salsaboston.com/antuanua or scroll down.
Also, this Friday is a FREE 18+ Salsa Dance/open house hosted by Havana Club
at the YWCA in Central Square. As many of you know, Cambridge has been
hassling the venue owners in the area about licensing issues, including the
YWCA, and those are thankfully being settled. Hence, Havana Club is welcoming
everyone back this week. Check it out!
The chatter about cruise season is almost deafening here at SalsaBoston HQ, in
fact I get calls each week wondering if they are starting yet. Well, they
are---June 20! Fridays and Sundays, alternating weeks, this year. The dates
are online. http://salsaboston.com/cruise Prices are tentatively the same as
well. Questions or want to book a group? Call me at 617-513-9841. Ask your
HR department to book a group! They have budgets for that.
** ATTENTION SALSA INSTRUCTORS!
I am relaunching a program we've had for a while that many don't
know about. Salsa Field Trips to An Tua Nua!
The idea is that your beginner level studio class students
often don't know where to go dancing or need a little
hand holding (I know I did, way back when...), so we have
this program which offers a discount coupon to the students.
PLUS, we pay a commission to you, the instructor, to book a
"graduation field trip" for your beginner classes. You
can participate as often as you like as well, once for
each session you teach.
Contact me for details: olaf@salsaboston.com or 617-513-9841
** SalsaBoston's new sister company, Swing City Productions,

An Tua Nua is a great contemporary Irish bar & grill on Beacon Street just
outside of Kenmore Square (only about 3 blocks from Sophia's). In the back
they have a dance club about the same size as the upstairs at Sophia's, with a
sizable dance floor that holds about 150 people, a bar, and plenty of lounge
seating.
Close to the green line (St. Mary's on the C train, Fenway on the D, Kenmore
on the B), plenty of street and lot parking.
Irish/America/Bar food available until 10pm. I have eaten there regularly, it
is very tasty and modestly priced.
Note: they have Karaoke with my man Kev-Mac Daddy in the front portion of the
bar when you walk in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back
room! Full Bar. Please check your coat.

Havana Club news:
Salsa Fridays 18+ will be an open house this week. I remember that as an
undergrad things can get tight at the end of the school year. So this friday
is a free party to thank everyone for being so cool for so long. And,
obviously, at every party there is a lot of stuff that needs to be done, so if
you'd like to volunteer to help this Friday, please send me an email. (See
below for address.)
This Havana Saturday Live in Boston we bring you Tentumbao: an awesome ten
piece band that is the epitome of cool, class and musical virtuosity. I dig
the band, dig the party, and thank you all for coming out to support what has
become an incredible salsa dance party. There will be well over 250 people,
and it will be a great time. If you're into live salsa music (and/or dancing
to it), come on by and tell/bring your friends!
