Salsa Headlines

We had a great time with about 85+ people making it to Sagra "Preview I" last night. We are of course ironing out the wrinkles as advertised, but people loved the place from all the feedback we got! "Five notches up from before" was one comment. Anyway, it's got a great atmosphere, great location, very cool bartenders & staff, great vibe, a modest sized space for now but later this summer the upstairs will be opening up and we already know that's going to be dream room for Boston's Salseros! Stay tuned for photos and details about next week's "Preview II" and the May 20 Grand Opening.

Dear Salseros!

Some very exciting news for you! After four years at An Tua Nua, we're relocating Salsa Wednesdays to a very cool new venue, Sagra Restaurant, right in the heart of Davis Square in Somerville. We're doing this because we felt it was time to find a nicer place more suitable to the needs of Salseros. We had some great times at An Tua Nua, but we're really looking forward to the new place. The consensus is two thumbs up!

Each Night:
9pm-10pm: (sharp!): Beginner and Intermediate Salsa Lessons with Salsa Y
Control/Johnny & Kelly
10pm-1am: Dancing! Salsa/Latin with resident DJ's D. Martinez and Hernan
(note: lessons with MetaMovements from 7-9 will resume will resume later
this summer, as we don't have space lined up for those times yet)

   

About Sagra
Sagra Restaurant is a very elegant fairly new Italian Restaurant in Davis Square. We will be on the ground level this summer, and by the end of the summer they are building out the 2nd floor with a full dance hall, the likes of which we've been dreaming of for years. Join us for what we predict is going to be a great new home for Salsa!

Welcome to Club Caribé, Boston's newest upscale Salsa/Latin hotspot! Resident DJ's Hernan and D. Martinez are in the house spinning the best of Salsa, plus frequent special night and promotions. The party is hopping! If you hadn't heard already, something like 400-450 people made it to the opening, and we've been going strong ever since.

News from Havana Club:

Spring has sprung, and we're looking forward to yet another fun-filled evening of salsa dancing this Friday night in Central Square! Please note that the party will begin with salsa lessons at 9pm. The rueda lessons will return fairly soon- once the party runs 'til 2am. And by starting our evening at 9, nobody has to rush to the party after work!

And this Havana Saturday in Boston we are pleased to present DJ Sonerito (aka Salsa y Control Dance Co's Andres Giraldo). Not only is Andres a world-class salsero (and a gentleman), but he and his brother also have one of the finest collections of salsa and latin music. Come on by for an amazing evening of dancing at one of Boston's most beautiful venues. The bands (like the rueda lessons on Fridays) will return soon though! May 9th, Rumba Na Ma. May 16th, Grupo Fantasia. If you like Havana Saturdays in Boston, and want to see it continue, come on out and show your support!
