Thanks Rob!

: Hey Becka, I also found this in my files. It was a posting to salsafrenzy from a Chicago woman responding to someone from Boston requesting the same info you did a couple of months ago. hope it helps..... Rob

: "I love dancing in chicago. They have both on 1 and on 2 dancers. Generally
: the on 2 dancers show up to the clubs later in the evening. They have a
: good website to track events happening in chicago. The scene is of course
: not as big as in New York. More like the size in Boston. They seem to do
: more cha cha and cumbias there and have some really cool bachata dancers--
: yes bachata for the modern age!
: Have a good time. Connie

: Notworthy clubs I've gone to inlcude the 720 club I think it was tuesday.
: The Buzz was great on Wednesday...starting with the afterwork crowd and
: ending about 3 or 4 in the morning.
: Chicago is pretty easy to get around in because unlike Boston, most of the
: streets are laid out in a grid.
: And on top of all that you get the marvelous midwestern hospitality!!!
: They also had a Sunday event like once a month or every other Sunday in a
: downtown motel... I'm thinking presidential towers tor something like that.
: But check the website through salsaweb.
: Have fun. Connie"

: : : Does anyone have any good information about Chicago and places to go out dancing? I'm going there in a couple weeks...

: : : Thanks!
: : Hi Becka,

: : This info is from http://www.salsachicago.com/. They have a complete listing on their site. The clubs listed below are their recommended favorites by night. I have no personal knowledge of any of these, but maybe someone else out there does. I think there's a pretty strong scene in Chicago. I've met some of the performers from there and they've all been really nice and very good.

: : Have a great time,

: : Rob

: : Monday: Rancho Luna (18 & over)
: : Tuesday; Green Dolphin or Club 720
: : Wednesday: The Buzz
: : Thursday: Excalibur
: : Friday: Transit or Nacional 27
: : Saturday: The Tavern Club or Club Babalu or Nacional 27
: : Sunday: Presidential Tower every other Sunday then off to The Buzz (every Sunday)
