: Nobody does care - so why are you still carrying on about it? We get it. Olaf doesn't like Anthony. Anthony doesn't like Olaf. We don't care about the historical reasons or about any recent developments.

Salsera,

I appreciate your opinion, but with all due respect there is more to it than "liking" or not. People can care or not, but please don't dimish it.

Here we have a guy (i.e. Anthony Mayor) who has made it his mission to demean and undermine me and my efforts, and for no apparent "non-petty" reason. Furthermore, he's attempted to do the same to others in positions similar to mine (Jeff/Havana Club for example, and a host of others, pretty much everyone for that matter with a few exceptions).

I don't know what his reason is, petty or not, but this sort of obnoxiousness frankly sometimes really gets my goat and makes promoting Salsa in Boston, i.e. maintaining this site and associated events, whether I and my people make some money at it or not, less than pleasurable. So whether you care or not, at least you know what the deal is. Moreover, I feel I have to make a disclaimer as to why I am no longer going to promote his stuff, and this is it.

Below is the complete reasoning for your reading pleasure. Thanks again for your thoughts.

Dance on,
-Olaf

The very abridged history in case you don't know it:

Some years ago April took exception to the fact that I/we asked all local salsa pro's to participate in our congress for free in return for the support that we gave them throughout the year. I won't go into details, but it made sense _at the time_ and everyone agreed except April, who without warning sent out a public letter stating why not, demeaning me and the event, and announcing her boycott. Though April since then has personally apologized to me for that, Anthony has been at it ever since, even calling up people I'd had longtime professional relationships with to promote himself up as the bastion of Boston Salsa righteousness. (How do I know? I got calls as soon as said people hung up the phone asking "Who the heck is this 'Anthony' guy from 'SalsaFrenzy?')

Additionally, attempts to communicate with April privately about various things ended up in Anthony's inbox, since evidently a number of AprilOn2 email addresses actually go to him and not to April.

Despite my disdain for those proceedings, I continued to list April's/AprilOn2 lessons and events as I did everyone else's, since it was the right thing to do. I do in fact value and try to maintain the integrity and fairness of this website.

However, I am told April nowadays is more of an occasional guest than a regular instructor in Boston, and Anthony is evidently the one running the bulk of the AprilOn2 activities. Because of his long string of obnoxious, antagonistic antics with all manners of individuals, under the aire of righteousness at that, I have finally drawn a line for myself and thus am no longer willing to have him and as a resultant "AprilOn2" benefit from my efforts.

As for April herself? I think we have no beef anymore (in fact we even had a nice short dance at our last Congress), but I think its to her detriment that she's got this guy effectively representing her. If I'm wrong about any of this (and I may be) she is certainly welcome to set it straight. I have really only interacted with Anthony for some time so that is all I can go on.
