I was wondering how people out there with salsa partner found their partners?

I see a lot of people on this board advertising for partners but I'm not sure how safe that is and also if people are just trying to find someone to hook up with rather than to really practice their moves with.

Any horror stories? Any successes?

If I could, I go out salsa/merengue/bachata-ing every night (Fri-Sun.) however most of my friends either don't love it that much or don't love it enough to pay to get into places.

Most of the good salsa male partners in my class are under the age of 21 so would not be able to get in clubs.
