Hello, Eboney!
Last year I taught a very successful program at the Forest Grove Middle School in Worcester. The children were very open to learning. I actually taught them Rueda de Casino, because that style of dance is really a team effort. It was a great success, and I would suggest it to anyone wanting to teach that age group of children. With the built in constant switching of partners, we avoided that awkward, "What?! You want me to dance with HIM/HER???" that seems to occur constantly with children of that age. It was really cool to see the kids grow in their respect for one another through the program. You will definitely be glad of your efforts!
My one other suggestion is to begin the program with a goal of a performance, at a class assembly or something. I found that, without a specific goal to aim toward, the children's focus and drive diminished over several months.
