: My ATM/Credit card was stolen on Saturday night. I just wanted to post a reminder to be extra vigilant about watching your belongings at larger salsa events. I’ve become so accustomed to being able to leave my bag unattended at events where I know everyone, that leaving my bag on a chair seemed safe. I couldn’t imagine someone would go through my bag and take anything. This was a foolish, but not uncommon assumption. Unfortunately, I couldn’t cancel the card until after the holiday, and there were already fraudulent purchases that I’ll have to deal with.

: Since something like this so rarely happens, I think many of us may have become too comfortable over the years. Be careful, and if you can’t leave something of value at home, be sure to keep an eye on it!
