: Salsa is not only the captivating music we hear and dance to today. It is a social and cultural movement that exploded in the early 70’s, primarily in New York City. It was a search for identity for Latin New Yorkers and during that process became a way of life. Through a series of efforts to promote Latin music at that time, Salsa seemed to be the concept that best captured the meaning, feeling, and soul of Afro-Cuban/Latin music. Fania records put together some of the best singers and musicians of that era creating what is known as the Fania All-Stars. With numerous sold out concerts, Fania All-Stars where very influential in having the term Salsa catch on not only in New York and the U.S, but throughout the world.

: The party will feature:

: -From the movie “El Cantante” with Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony
: ***EDWIN RIVERA performing his tribute to Roberto Roena from Fania All-Stars***
: -Special Salsa y Control Performance
: -Grooviest 70s costume contest. Come dressed in your favorite 70s outfit and enter for a chance to win $150 cash prize, dance lessons and instructional DVDs.
: -Guest DJ D. Martinez, DJ Rob Suave, DJ Sonerito and DJ Travieso playing the best Salsa tunes from the 70s
: -Learn about your favorite Salsa artist of the 70s through vintage footage playing on a big screen, photos, concert posters of that era and Salsa personalities impersonators. Meet and greet some of your favorite artists such as Hector Lavoe, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, la Lupe, Ismael Rivera and many more.
: -Usual Rueda lesson at 8:30pm and Salsa lesson at 9:30pm

: ALL OF THIS FOR ONLY $15
: 21+, Dress To Impress (70s theme), cash bar, parking garage next to the club.
