salsa trip to South America

Hi,

I am planning a trip to South/Central America. My goal is to pick a location where I could get good/cheap salsa lessons. I have enough conversational Spanish and I've traveled through Brazil/Guatemala extensively so I feel comfortable getting around. I was considering Ecuador/Peru/Columbia. I was looking at a trip now to Quito and then a side excusion to Galapekos islands.
Ideally there would be a beach as well.

Would anyone have any suggestions about good destinations?

Cheap/direct flights out of Boston would also be a big help. I heard that Puerto Rico has direct flights out of Boston but I do not know if that would warrant a 2 week trip.
