Hey, I can tell you that's how they make their money on an event like that.

If you think of it: over head cost for everthing is expensive, so they have to charge high price to cover everything. there are other craps that go with it, not just dancing. like; The renting of the hall, the foods, the drinks, the staffs, the music and other entertainments, and everything to make new year party an unforgetable one.
I'm sure people would still pay for the high price tickets, because it's a once a year event, and they know they are going to have a real good time there.

For me, I looked at the price and turn away. Why, because at this time I am not in position to pay that much. Maybe next time, when my budget can take on such price.

Don't give up, there is always other place to go. I'm sure if you search really hard you will find one that sooth your budget. You go, go and make the best of it. Keep dancing.

Bye

After all: It's business, and money makes the world go round.

: Why is it that on New Years promoters charge 4-6 times what a salsa party regularly costs? It is the same venues, the same music, the same people, no special performers... is the champagne and appetizers they provide THAT expensive? What do other salseros think? Do you also see these prices as ridiculous? btw my intention is not to criticize this website's party I just truly want to know what others think... am I being stingy?
