An Tua Nua is a great contemporary Irish bar & grill on Beacon Street just outside of Kenmore Square (only about 3 blocks from Sophia's).  In the back they have a dance club about the same size as the upstairs at Sophia's, with a sizable dance floor that holds about 150 people, a bar, and plenty of lounge seating.

Close to the green line (St. Mary's on the C train, Fenway on the D, Kenmore on the B), plenty of street and lot parking.

Irish/America/Bar food available until 10pm.  I have eaten there regularly, it is very tasty and modestly priced.

Note: they have Karaoke with my man Kev-Mac Daddy in the front portion of the bar when you walk in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back room!  Full Bar.  Please check your coat.

Boston’s hottest salsa band, Obbini Tumbao, returns to Ryles Jazz Club, located at 212 Cambridge St., Cambridge, MA on March 7th, 2006. Internationally acclaimed percussion duo, Pedro “Pedrito” Martinez and Mauricio Herrera, will join Obbini Tumbao for a night of Cuban dance music. Tickets are $10, show starts at 9:00 pm.

Winner of the 2006 Phoenix Best Music Poll, as "Best World Music Act," the group's blend of Afro-Cuban music and North American jazz creates a body of work whose infectious rhythms will make you want to get up and dance! MusicAmador is a dynamic booking agency that celebrates Latin culture through music.  We book recognized, high quality, seasoned national touring acts into concert halls, festivals and universities nationwide.  Sol y Canto is a nationally touring Latin music ensemble.   Rosi Amador is both founder and Director for MusicAmador. She is also company director and lead singer of Sol y Canto. We are in a comfortable home office in North Cambridge; 12 minutes walk from the Davis Square Red line T or 15 minutes away from Porter Square.

Job Description:

The Office Assistant is responsible for day-to-day operations including responding to phone, fax and email messages, maintaining adequate office supplies, and CD supplies.  The assistant also focuses on Sol y Canto’s activities including updating the band’s Internal Calendar, preparing Tour Itineraries for the band, contacting presenters and mailing any publicity materials requested.  It also requires assisting the Booking Agent with any contract preparations, as well as assisting director Rosi Amador with her personal business.

REQUIREMENTS:

Excellent communication skills and pleasant phone manner a must. High level of comfort with Apple computer software preferable. Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates preferred, however, candidate must have complete fluency in oral and written English.
