While we make every
effort to keep the price affordable, unfortunately this year there is a $2 per
passenger fuel surcharge to make up for the high price of gasoline.
However, we got them to give us a bit more time on the water this year to make
up for it.
Also, do you work for a company? Have them set up a
group outing for you, and they might even pay for it! Many HR departments
have budgets for that. Here's the flyer: http://salsaboston.com/cruise07/groups/groups07.pdf

We are looking for cruise sponsors *** If your firm is looking to market
to a diverse community this summer, this year's sixteen-cruise series is
the perfect opportunity for some great direct advertising exposure to over 5000

An Tua Nua is a great contemporary Irish bar & grill on
Beacon Street just outside of Kenmore Square (only about 3 blocks from
Sophia's). In the back they have a dance club about the same size as the
upstairs at Sophia's, with a sizable dance floor that holds about 150 people, a
bar, and plenty of lounge seating.
Close to the green line (St. Mary's on
the C train, Fenway on the D, Kenmore on the B), plenty of street and lot
parking.
Irish/America/Bar food available until 10pm. I have eaten
there regularly, it is very tasty and modestly priced.
Note: they have
Karaoke with my man Kev-Mac Daddy in the front portion of the bar when you walk
in, but don't let that scare you... Salsa is in the back room! Full
Bar. Please check your coat.

******************************************************************* 4) HOW
WOULD YOU LIKE TO SPONSOR AND PARTICIPATE IN A MOVIE ABOUT RUEDA DE CASINO AND
SHARE YOUR PASSION WITH THE WORLD?
Rueda teachers Sarita Streng of
Albuquerque and Eric Johnson of San Diego have shot footage in Cuba for a
documentary about Rueda de Casino. The film will star a top Rueda group,
explain the history of the dance, and celebrate the beauty of this dance
form. Below is a link for a video clip of a trailer for the movie: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xJVe0rrMFKY
We
are also planning a short epilogue produced by Barbara Bernstein, which will
document Rueda de Casino's many manifestations in the world today.
We
need your help. Here's how:
1. SUPPORT A SPONSORSHIP
DRIVE
We have all the footage for the film. We need funds to pay
for the music rights, final editing, and legal fees. We are looking for
dancers, dance teachers and friends of Rueda who are willing to ask others to
become financial sponsors. In appreciation for supporting the film with a
minimum donation of $10, each sponsor will receive an original "I Love Rueda de
Casino" bumper sticker. Groups raising $300 or above will be mentioned in
the credits with your group name and possibly a group photo.
We need
$28,000 to finish the film. Imagine $10,000 coming from the grass-roots
efforts of the world-wide Rueda community.
Would you consider taking a
sponsorship packet? Each packet will contain 25 stickers and a return
envelope. Donations are tax-deductible. For more information,
contact Louisa Streng at strengl@aol.com or 505-899-7863.
2. Provide
information, videos and photos that may be used in a short epilogue
We
are asking Rueda dancers around the world to tell us about the variety of places
they have danced Rueda and anything they have done with the dance form that is
particularly interesting.
Example: Some Casineros in NYC planned to
protest a radio station that wasn't playing enough timba by having Rueda dancers
encircle the building and dance around it.
For more information, contact
Rueda Epilogue Producer Barbara Bernstein at BarbBtalks@aol.com.
THANK
YOU/MIL GRACIAS for your consideration. Sarita Streng,
